Role Overview
As a Staff Bank Staff Nurse, you will be deployed across HSE Dublin and South East sites on an if-and-when basis, providing skilled nursing care across a range of clinical settings. Staff Bank positions offer flexibility while keeping you embedded within a large, well-supported HSE region covering Tipperary South, Waterford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Wexford, Wicklow, and part of South Dublin.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred nursing care in line with HSE standards and professional guidelines.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients across acute hospital settings.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to all relevant clinical policies and procedures.
- Contribute positively to ward and unit culture, supporting colleagues and management as required.
- Be available to commence employment within 60 days of receipt of a formal offer.
Requirements
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) in the General division.
- Ability to demonstrate the clinical competencies required of a Staff Nurse in an acute hospital environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamworking skills.
- Flexibility and availability to take up if-and-when assignments at short notice across multiple sites.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in Ireland.
Salary
€37,788 – €54,412 per annum (HSE Staff Nurse scale, 12-point scale, plus Long Service Increment of €56,032 where applicable), based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 February 2026. Pay is pro-rata for if-and-when hours worked.
Contract Type
If and when required (Staff Bank). This is a flexible, demand-led arrangement rather than a fixed-hours contract.
