A permanent Catering Assistant vacancy is now open at St Luke’s General Hospital, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, with the HSE Dublin and South East Region. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced catering professional to join a busy hospital kitchen and contribute directly to patient care and wellbeing across acute and mental health services.
Role Overview
The Catering Assistant will work across the Main Kitchen and Mental Health Service Wards at St Luke’s, Clonmel. The role involves food preparation, service, and maintaining the high hygiene and safety standards essential in a hospital catering environment. There is one permanent whole-time vacancy available at this time.
Please note that an existing panel is currently in place for Catering Assistant. This existing panel will take precedence over the supplementary panel created through this campaign for any future posts that arise. A panel may also be formed from this campaign for HSE Dublin and South East, from which current and future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled across the region. The lifespan of any panel formed is subject to ongoing HSE restructuring.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a large catering organisation is required.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in Ireland and meet any additional HSE employment requirements.
Salary
€36,407 – €44,087 per annum (HSE Catering Assistant scale, 9-point scale). Based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026.

St Luke’s General Hospital, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. St Luke’s serves as a key acute and mental health facility within the HSE Dublin and South East Region, providing essential services to communities across South Tipperary and the wider region. This role is based across the Main Kitchen and Mental Health Service Wards on site.
