Grade VII Data Protection and FOI Compliance Manager — Connolly Hospital
Connolly Hospital is recruiting a Grade VII Data Protection and FOI Compliance Manager to lead data governance and freedom of information compliance at one of Dublin’s major acute hospitals. This permanent, full-time role is ideal for an experienced compliance professional seeking a senior position at the heart of HSE Dublin and North East operations.
About the Role
The Data Protection and FOI Compliance Manager will serve as the hospital’s technical expert in data protection law and freedom of information obligations. Reporting to senior hospital management, the postholder will be responsible for ensuring Connolly Hospital’s full compliance with relevant legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Freedom of Information Acts.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing all FOI requests, data protection queries, legal requests, and Parliamentary Questions as relevant to the role
- Advising the Hospital Executive on data protection matters arising from information exchange with other agencies, and in relation to contracts and services
- Overseeing the management of data protection non-compliances and breaches, ensuring appropriate escalation and resolution
- Co-ordinating the implementation of the hospital’s Data Protection quality improvement plan(s)
- Providing management support within the function and supervising staff within own remit
Requirements

Salary
€61,219 – €79,583 per annum (HSE Grade VII Clerical scale, 11-point scale, plus LSIs where applicable). Based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026. Appointment will be at the minimum of the scale unless otherwise approved. Previous HSE service may be recognised for the purpose of incremental credit.
