Role Overview
As a Staff Nurse within HSE Dublin and Midlands, you will deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients across acute hospital settings. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to patient assessment, care planning, and clinical decision-making in a dynamic hospital environment. These posts span multiple Midlands sites, offering candidates the opportunity to work within a large regional health service that serves the counties of Westmeath, Offaly, Laois, Kildare, and parts of Dublin South and Wicklow.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, person-centred nursing care in line with evidence-based practice and professional standards.
- Conduct patient assessments and contribute to individualised care planning and ongoing evaluation.
- Work collaboratively with medical, allied health, and support staff as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in accordance with HSE and NMBI requirements.
- Adhere to all infection prevention and control, health and safety, and hospital policies and procedures.
- Participate in professional development activities and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in patient care.
Requirements
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) as a General Nurse.
- A minimum of one year’s post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Salary
€38,166 – €54,956 per annum (HSE Staff Nurse scale, 13-point scale, plus Long Service Increment of €56,592 where applicable), based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026.
Location
These posts are based across four acute hospitals within the HSE Dublin and Midlands region: Regional Hospital Mullingar (Co. Westmeath), Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore (Co. Offaly), Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise (Co. Laois), and Naas Regional Hospital (Co. Kildare). Together, these sites form a key part of the public acute hospital network serving communities across the Midlands and greater Dublin South area.
