Role Overview

As a Healthcare Assistant / Carer based in Manorhamilton, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred care to clients in their own homes, enabling them to live with independence and dignity. This is a meaningful, community-facing role where your daily work directly improves the lives of the people around you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering personal care — including support with mobility, dressing, and continence care — with dignity and respect at all times.
  • Assisting with meal preparation and light housekeeping.
  • Providing medication prompts and maintaining accurate, timely records.
  • Travelling between client visits within your local area, with mileage reimbursed if driving.
  • Observing client wellbeing and escalating any concerns promptly to local office management.
  • Building professional, trusted relationships with clients and their families.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and privacy at all times.

Requirements

  • EU/EEA citizenship or an unrestricted right to work in Ireland is required. No visa sponsorship is available.
  • QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support is desirable; full training support is provided if not already held.
  • A driving licence is beneficial but not required for this role.
  • Empathetic, dependable, and a strong communicator — someone clients and families feel at ease with.
  • Committed to professionalism, confidentiality, and person-centred care.
  • Genuinely motivated to support people in your community to live with independence and dignity.

Salary

Up to €18.53 per hour. Premium rates apply for weekends, bank holidays, qualifications held, and length of service — your pay grows with your experience. Paid travel time between visits and full mileage reimbursement are included.

Contract Type

Permanent contracts available — full-time or part-time — with flexible rostering and bi-monthly pay.

Location

Manorhamilton, County Leitrim. This is a community-based, in-person role. You will work within your local area, visiting clients in their own homes. Manorhamilton is the principal town of North Leitrim and serves a wide rural catchment across the surrounding townlands.
