A permanent Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist opportunity has arisen within the Urology Pelvic Health service at IHA Sligo/Leitrim/South Donegal/West Cavan, under HSE West and North West. This specialist role supports the delivery of the National Urology Model of Care 2019 and offers a highly experienced pelvic health physiotherapist the chance to lead clinical practice at a regional level.

Role Overview

There is currently one whole-time permanent Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist position available in the Urology service. The post is located within the IHA Sligo/Leitrim/South Donegal/West Cavan integrated health area. A panel may be formed from this competition, from which permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.

Key Responsibilities

The Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Urology Pelvic Health will be expected to:

  • Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in Urology, Pelvic Health, and Continence Management as relevant to the role.
  • Demonstrate evidence of training in internal assessment and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction.
  • Support and advance the implementation of the National Urology Model of Care 2019 across the integrated health area.
  • Provide clinical leadership and specialist expertise within the multidisciplinary urology team.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the requirements for the Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist grade as set out by the HSE. Key competencies include:

  • Recognised qualification and current CORU registration as a Physiotherapist.
  • Demonstrated specialist experience in Urology Pelvic Health and Continence Management.
  • Evidence of training in internal assessment and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction.
  • Capacity to provide expert clinical leadership and contribute to service development at a regional level.

Salary

€72,119 – €83,689 per annum (HSE Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist scale, Grade 3707, 9-point scale), based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026. Pay is pro-rata for part-time or worksharing arrangements.

Location

The post is based within the Integrated Health Area covering Sligo, Leitrim, South Donegal, and West Cavan. This is a geographically diverse catchment area served by HSE West and North West, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to shape specialist pelvic health physiotherapy services across a broad regional population.

Contract Type

Permanent Whole-time, Permanent Part-time, Specified Purpose Whole-time, and Specified Purpose Part-time posts may be filled from this competition.
