Mayo University Hospital is recruiting a Locum Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist for an immediate fixed-term vacancy based in Castlebar, Co. Mayo. This is an excellent opportunity for a specialist registered in Obstetrics & Gynaecology to join a busy regional maternity and gynaecology service in the HSE West and North West region.
About the Role
This locum post is offered on an initial 12-month fixed-term wholetime basis, with an immediate start available. The successful candidate will join the Women’s Health team at Mayo University Hospital, contributing to the delivery of obstetric and gynaecological services across the department. Key Responsibilities
The post-holder will deliver the full range of obstetric and gynaecological clinical services expected of a consultant-grade specialist, including Colposcopy (desirable). Specific duties will be agreed with the Clinical Director on appointment and will reflect the service needs of the department.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Registration on the Specialist Division of the Irish Medical Council in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Valid CTG (Cardiotocography) certification
- Valid PROMPT (Practical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training) certification
- Experience in Colposcopy is desirable
Salary
Competitive pay. Salary will be commensurate with the Consultant grade (Grade 1139) and the applicable HSE Consultant Contract, in accordance with Department of Health consolidated pay scales.
Location
Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar, Co. Mayo. The hospital is the principal acute hospital serving County Mayo and the wider HSE West and North West region, providing a comprehensive range of acute inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services including a busy maternity unit.
Contract Type
Fixed-Term Wholetime — 12 months initially, with an immediate start available.
