South East Palliative Care Centre in Waterford is recruiting a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist for a permanent whole-time position. Role Overview
There is currently one permanent, whole-time vacancy available at South East Palliative Care Centre, Waterford. The successful Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist will contribute specialist occupational therapy expertise within palliative care services while supporting high standards of clinical practice, quality improvement, education and research.
A panel may be formed from this campaign for Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist vacancies, from which current and future permanent and specified purpose positions of full-time or part-time duration may be filled across the HSE Dublin and South East region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist occupational therapy expertise within palliative care services.
- Support and promote clinical excellence in specialist palliative care practice.
- Contribute to clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support practice development across relevant occupational therapy and multidisciplinary services.
- Contribute to teaching, education and professional development activities.
- Participate in and support research relevant to clinical practice and service improvement.
Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate the following experience and professional capability:
- Depth and breadth of experience in palliative care services.
- A proven record of clinical excellence in specialist palliative care, demonstrated through postgraduate qualifications or relevant courses.
- Depth and breadth of experience in clinical audit.
- Experience contributing to quality improvement initiatives and practice development.
- Experience in teaching and education.
- Relevant experience or involvement in research.
Salary
€72,119 – €83,689 per annum (HSE Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist grade 3824 scale, 9-point scale), based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026.
Location
The current vacancy is based at South East Palliative Care Centre in Waterford. The campaign sits within the HSE Dublin and South East region, which includes Tipperary South, Waterford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Wexford, Wicklow and part of South Dublin. A panel formed from this campaign may be used to fill suitable vacancies across the wider region.
Contract Type
Permanent Wholetime. There is currently one permanent vacancy at 1 WTE. The campaign may also be used to fill future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full-time or part-time duration across the HSE Dublin and South East region.
