Key Responsibilities

As our Simulation Clinical Nurse Educator, your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing comprehensive simulation-based learning programmes for nursing staff
• Leading multidisciplinary simulation training sessions to improve patient outcomes
• Developing evidence-based educational curricula aligned with Irish nursing standards
• Mentoring and supporting junior nursing staff in clinical skill development
• Collaborating with clinical teams across Donegal and the North West region
• Ensuring compliance with HSE policies and Irish nursing regulatory requirements
• Conducting regular assessment and evaluation of simulation training effectiveness
• Contributing to research initiatives in simulation education and patient safety

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

• Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Minimum 5 years post-registration nursing experience
• Relevant postgraduate qualification in nursing education or simulation
• Demonstrated experience in clinical education or training delivery
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Commitment to continuous professional development

Desirable Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Nursing, Education, or related field
• Experience with simulation technology and equipment
• Knowledge of Irish healthcare systems and HSE procedures
• Previous experience in a CNM or senior nursing role
• Research experience in nursing education
