Key Responsibilities

As a Consultant Microbiologist in Ireland, your duties will include:

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

• Full registration with the Irish Medical Council
• RCPI or equivalent specialist qualification in Medical Microbiology
• Eligibility for specialist registration in Medical Microbiology in Ireland
• Significant postgraduate experience in medical microbiology
• Experience in diagnostic microbiology laboratory management

Desirable Qualifications

• Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Ireland (FRCPath)
• Additional qualifications in infectious diseases or related fields
• Research experience and publications in peer-reviewed journals
