This Staff Officer Grade V Mayo position is part of the HSE West and North West region, covering Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Mayo, and Galway. You’ll be supporting vital psychology services that make a real difference to patients across the region.
Key Responsibilities
As a Staff Officer Grade V Psychology Department, your responsibilities will include:
Administrative Excellence
- Managing complex administrative processes within a busy psychology department
- Coordinating diary management for senior psychology staff and clinical teams
- Organising meetings, conferences, and training events
- Maintaining accurate patient records and confidential documentation
- Processing correspondence and managing communication workflows
Data Management & Analysis
- Managing diverse and complex data sets related to psychology services
- Preparing statistical reports and service activity analysis
- Supporting quality improvement initiatives with data-driven insights
- Maintaining compliance with HSE data protection and GDPR requirements
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaising with senior managers and key internal stakeholders
- Building relationships with external partners and statutory agencies
- Supporting interdisciplinary team communications
- Facilitating patient referral processes and appointment scheduling
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Education: Minimum Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Experience: Proven experience working in a busy office environment
- Skills: Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Eligibility: Must be current employee of HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 agencies, or statutory health agencies (per WRC Agreement 161867)
Desirable Qualifications
- Third-level qualification in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field
- Experience in healthcare administrative settings
- Knowledge of HSE policies and procedures
- Familiarity with clinical administrative processes
- Previous psychology or mental health service experience
