About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Patient Support Worker to join our team at University Hospital Waterford. This Grade V position involves providing essential support services to patients and healthcare teams in a dynamic hospital environment. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and assistance to patients during their hospital stay
- Assist healthcare staff with patient care activities and administrative tasks

Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Eligibility for employment with HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 agencies, or statutory health agencies (per WRC Agreement 161867)
- Relevant experience in healthcare or patient support roles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to patient-centered care and confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal qualification in healthcare support or related field
- Previous hospital or acute care experience
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control procedures
- Experience with patient record systems
