About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmaceutical Technician to join our Pharmacy Department at Galway University Hospitals. This Staff Grade position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient care while working with a professional healthcare team in one of Ireland’s leading medical facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and dispensing of pharmaceutical products under pharmacist supervision
- Maintain accurate records of pharmaceutical inventory and stock management
- Support quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with HSE pharmaceutical protocols
- Provide technical assistance in sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient medication management
- Maintain clean and organized pharmacy facilities according to health and safety standards
- Assist with pharmaceutical ordering, receiving, and storage procedures
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Relevant pharmaceutical technician qualification or equivalent
- Current registration with relevant professional body
- Experience in hospital or community pharmacy setting
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical preparations and dispensing procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in pharmaceutical work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospital pharmacy environment
- Knowledge of HSE policies and procedures
- Experience with pharmaceutical inventory management systems
- Additional training in sterile preparations
