Join the Health Service Executive (HSE) as a Senior Occupational Therapist in our Children’s Disability Network Teams across Dublin and Midlands region. About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our specialized Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNTs) across multiple HSE locations. You will provide expert occupational therapy services to children with disabilities, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care and support to children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for children with various disabilities and developmental needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with children, families, and multidisciplinary team members
- Provide direct therapeutic interventions using evidence-based occupational therapy practices
- Offer consultation and training to families, caregivers, and other professionals regarding therapeutic strategies
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to case management processes
- Participate in team meetings, care planning conferences, and professional development activities
- Supervise and mentor junior occupational therapy staff and students as required
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification recognized by CORU
- Current registration with CORU (Health and Social Care Professionals Council)
- Minimum 3-5 years post-qualification experience in pediatric occupational therapy
- Experience working with children with disabilities in a healthcare or community setting
- Strong knowledge of child development, disability assessment tools, and therapeutic interventions
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualifications in pediatric occupational therapy or related field
- Experience working within HSE or Irish public health service
- Knowledge of HSE policies, procedures, and Children’s Disability Services framework
- Additional training in specialized pediatric assessment tools and intervention techniques
- Experience in multidisciplinary team working and case management
