About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNTs) across Dublin and Midlands region. This senior-level position involves providing specialized occupational therapy services to children with disabilities, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support children and their families in achieving their goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for children with complex disabilities
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based interventions
- Provide direct therapy services to children with various developmental and physical disabilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including physiotherapists, speech therapists, and medical professionals
- Support families through education, training, and home program development
- Participate in case conferences and care planning meetings
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and progress reports
- Mentor and supervise junior occupational therapy staff
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution
- Current registration with CORU (Health and Social Care Professionals Council)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in pediatric occupational therapy
- Experience working with children with disabilities in healthcare or community settings
- Strong knowledge of child development and disability-specific interventions
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional postgraduate qualifications in pediatric occupational therapy
- Experience in Children’s Disability Network Teams or similar services
- Training in specialized pediatric assessment tools and interventions
- Previous supervisory or mentoring experience
- Knowledge of HSE policies and procedures
