Senior Occupational Therapist – Dublin | HSE

Join the HSE Dublin and Midlands region as a Senior Occupational Therapist in our Children’s Disability Network Teams. This permanent full-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children’s lives across multiple locations in Dublin and surrounding counties.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNTs) across Dublin and Midlands region. This senior-level position involves providing specialized occupational therapy services to children with disabilities, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support children and their families in achieving their goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for children with complex disabilities
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based interventions
  • Provide direct therapy services to children with various developmental and physical disabilities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including physiotherapists, speech therapists, and medical professionals
  • Support families through education, training, and home program development
  • Participate in case conferences and care planning meetings
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and progress reports
  • Mentor and supervise junior occupational therapy staff

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution
  • Current registration with CORU (Health and Social Care Professionals Council)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in pediatric occupational therapy
  • Experience working with children with disabilities in healthcare or community settings
  • Strong knowledge of child development and disability-specific interventions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional postgraduate qualifications in pediatric occupational therapy
  • Experience in Children’s Disability Network Teams or similar services
  • Training in specialized pediatric assessment tools and interventions
  • Previous supervisory or mentoring experience
  • Knowledge of HSE policies and procedures
