About the Role
As Catering Officer at Louth County Hospital, you’ll lead the day-to-day operational management of our catering department while strategically developing food services for patients and staff. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive day-to-day operational management of the hospital catering department
- Strategically manage and coordinate catering services for all patients and healthcare staff
- Develop and implement innovative food service programs across the hospital campus
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and healthcare nutrition standards
- Manage catering staff schedules, training, and performance development
- Monitor food quality, patient satisfaction, and service delivery standards
- Collaborate with clinical teams to meet specific dietary and nutritional requirements
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Catering Management, Food Service, or equivalent field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in catering operations, preferably in healthcare setting
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP principles
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hospital or healthcare catering environment
- Additional certifications in food safety or nutrition
- Financial management and budgeting experience
- Knowledge of special dietary requirements for medical conditions
