An excellent opportunity is available for an Associate Specialist in Emergency Medicine to join the Emergency Department at Wexford General Hospital. This role supports the delivery of high-quality, consultant-led emergency care within a busy acute hospital serving the South East region.

The post is offered on a Specified Purpose Wholetime contract and is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants with appropriate Irish or UK medical experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior clinical decision-making within the Emergency Department
• Manage acute presentations in line with national and local clinical guidelines
• Support junior medical staff and multidisciplinary team members
• Participate in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
• Ensure safe, timely, and patient-centred emergency care delivery
• Contribute to service development within Emergency Medicine

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Degree in Medicine
• Full registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC)
• Evidence of IELTS or OET where applicable
• Irish or UK postgraduate medical experience only
• Demonstrated experience in Emergency Medicine at an appropriate level
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

• Grade: Associate Specialist 188Y
• Salary: In line with HSE consolidated salary scales (on application)
• Contract: Specified Purpose Wholetime
