The Business Manager (Grade VIII) role is a senior leadership position within Health Service Executive – Dublin and Midlands, supporting strategic, operational, and financial management across services in Dublin South. This role plays a critical part in ensuring effective governance, performance delivery, and service improvement within a complex healthcare environment.

This permanent, whole-time appointment is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and offers an opportunity to contribute at regional management level within the Irish public health system.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide senior business and operational management support across assigned services
• Lead on service planning, performance monitoring, and reporting
• Manage budgets, financial controls, and resource allocation
• Support governance, risk management, and compliance requirements
• Contribute to strategic development and service transformation initiatives
• Work collaboratively with clinical, nursing, and multidisciplinary leaders
• Lead and manage staff, fostering a culture of accountability and improvement
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Significant senior management experience in a large, complex organisation
• Proven experience in business planning, financial management, and governance
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage change and service improvement initiatives
• Relevant third-level qualification (Level 8 or higher) or equivalent experience
• Experience within healthcare or public sector environments is desirable
