The National Forensic Mental Health Service is seeking a Catering Officer, Grade II to join its catering team in Dublin North. This permanent whole-time role supports the delivery of high-quality food services in a secure healthcare environment, contributing directly to patient wellbeing and service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve meals in line with HSE and food safety standards
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
• Supervise and support catering staff as required
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas
• Manage food storage, stock rotation, and waste control
• Cater for special dietary requirements
• Support menu planning and service improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Relevant catering or culinary qualification (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience in a large-scale catering or healthcare environment
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland

• Salary in line with HSE Catering Officer Grade II (4001) consolidated pay scales
