St. Raphael’s Centre, Youghal is seeking a Chef I to join its Disability Services team on a permanent, whole-time basis. This role supports residents through the preparation of nutritious, high-quality meals in a care-focused environment. The post is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and cook meals in line with dietary, nutritional and medical requirements
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety
• Plan menus in collaboration with management and care teams
• Manage stock control, ordering and safe storage of food supplies
• Supervise and support kitchen staff as required
• Ensure compliance with HSE and HACCP standards
• Contribute to a positive, person-centred care environment
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Relevant professional cookery qualification (as outlined in Job Specification)
• Experience working in a commercial or institutional kitchen
• Knowledge of special diets and allergen management
• Strong organisational and teamwork skills
• Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary in line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (Chef I 451Y), effective 1 August 2025
