The Health Service Executive invites applications for a Chief Pharmacist II – Hospital Medicines Management System (HMMS) role covering Dublin North County and Dublin North City & West. This senior leadership position plays a critical role in the governance, optimisation, and strategic development of medicines management systems across integrated health areas.

This is a specified purpose, whole-time post offering an opportunity to influence digital medicines safety, clinical governance, and multidisciplinary collaboration at regional level.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Hospital Medicines Management System (HMMS)
• Lead medicines governance, safety, and digital optimisation initiatives
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across acute and community services
• Support implementation of national HSE medicines policies and standards
• Oversee quality improvement, audit, and compliance activities
• Contribute to service planning, workforce development, and innovation
• Act as a senior professional advisor within the health region
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI)
• Eligibility for appointment as Chief Pharmacist II (Grade 3271)
• Significant senior-level pharmacy management experience
• Demonstrated expertise in medicines management systems and governance
• Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills
• Experience working within complex healthcare environments
