An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Midwife Manager 2 within University Maternity Hospital Limerick. This role is central to the delivery of safe, high-quality maternity care, providing clinical leadership, operational management, and professional development for midwifery teams. The post holder will play a key role in service improvement and patient-centred care across the maternity service.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide strong clinical and professional leadership to midwifery staff
• Manage day-to-day operations within the assigned maternity area
• Ensure the delivery of safe, evidence-based, woman-centred care
• Support staff development, supervision, and performance management
• Contribute to service planning, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain compliance with HSE policies, standards, and clinical governance
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Midwife on the Register of Nurses and Midwives (NMBI)
• Relevant post-registration qualification or willingness to undertake same
• Significant post-registration midwifery experience
• Demonstrated leadership and management experience at appropriate level
• Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
• Evidence of continuous professional development
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary Scale (1 Aug 2025): €61,463 – €77,666 per annum (LSI included) for Clinical Midwife Manager 2, in line with HSE consolidated pay scales
