Mallow General Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Discharge Coordinator) to support safe, timely, and effective patient discharge and flow across the hospital. This leadership role is central to coordinating multidisciplinary discharge planning and improving patient outcomes.
Table of Contents
The successful candidate will work closely with nursing, medical, and allied health teams to ensure best practice discharge processes aligned with HSE policies.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate discharge planning processes across the hospital
• Support effective patient flow and reduce unnecessary delays in discharge
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, community services, and patient flow management
• Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff
• Monitor and evaluate discharge outcomes and implement service improvements
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and governance requirements
• Participate in audit, quality improvement, and service development initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Nurse or Midwife on the NMBI Register
• Minimum requirements as outlined in the official Job Specification for CNM2
• Relevant post-registration clinical and leadership experience
• Demonstrated experience in discharge planning or patient flow is desirable
• Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary in line with HSE Clinical Nurse Manager 2 pay scale (Grade 2119)
• Salary range (1 August 2025 scale): €61,463 – €77,666 per annum (LSI applicable)
