Clonakilty Community Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager 3 (Night) to provide senior clinical and managerial leadership across Older Persons Services during night duty. This is a permanent whole-time post within HSE South West, offering an opportunity to lead high-quality, person-centred care in a community hospital setting.
Table of Contents
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring safe staffing, clinical governance, and continuity of care overnight while supporting nursing teams and multidisciplinary colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide overall clinical and managerial leadership for night nursing services
• Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care for older persons
• Lead, support, and supervise nursing staff during night duty
• Maintain effective clinical governance, risk management, and quality standards
• Act as the senior clinical decision-maker on site during night shifts
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Support staff development, performance management, and rostering
• Communicate effectively with senior management and multidisciplinary teams
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Nurse or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience, including relevant management experience
• Demonstrated leadership and management capability at senior nursing level
• Experience in Older Persons Services or community hospital settings
• Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and organisational skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with HSE Clinical Nurse Manager 3 pay scale (effective 1 August 2025)
• Grade: Clinical Nurse Manager 3 – Night (Grade Code 2046)
• Contract: Permanent Whole-Time
• Working Pattern: Night duty
