Galway University Hospitals are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager II to lead and develop the Neurology Headache Service. This senior nursing role provides clinical leadership, service coordination, and quality improvement within a specialist neurology setting. Key Responsibilities
• Provide clinical and professional leadership within the Headache Service, Neurology
• Manage and support nursing staff to ensure high-quality, patient-centred care
• Coordinate and develop headache services in line with national and local policies
• Contribute to service planning, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
• Ensure effective multidisciplinary collaboration with medical and allied health teams
• Oversee clinical governance, risk management, and compliance standards
• Support education, training, and professional development of staff
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered Nurse on the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by NMBI
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of post-registration nursing experience in neurology
• Proven leadership and management experience at senior clinical level
• Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work flexibly to meet service demands and deadlines
• Access to appropriate transport, as the role involves frequent travel
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary in line with HSE Clinical Nurse Manager II (Grade 2119) pay scale: €61,463 – €77,666 per annum (LSI applies)
