Galway University Hospitals is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist Candidate (Diabetes) to play a pivotal role within the multidisciplinary diabetes team. This permanent, whole-time post offers an opportunity to contribute to regional diabetes programmes while delivering high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centred care across hospital and community settings.

Key Responsibilities
• Contribute to the development and delivery of regional diabetes services
• Coordinate patient-centred diabetes care in hospital and community settings
• Provide evidence-based clinical care to patients with diabetes
• Deliver comprehensive education and ongoing support to patients and families
• Support quality assurance, audit, and service evaluation activities
• Assist with resource management, staffing, and staff development
• Facilitate effective communication and clinical leadership within the MDT
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Relevant post-registration experience in diabetes or chronic disease management
• Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development

• Salary: In line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025)
• Contract: Permanent, Whole-Time
