Tipperary University Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (Heart Failure) to deliver expert, evidence-based care to patients with complex cardiac conditions. This permanent wholetime role offers the opportunity to work at an advanced clinical level within a multidisciplinary cardiology service while contributing to service development and patient education.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialist nursing care to patients with heart failure across inpatient and outpatient settings
• Support early diagnosis, treatment optimisation, and long-term management of heart failure
• Work collaboratively with cardiology consultants, nurses, and allied health professionals
• Lead patient and family education on heart failure management and self-care
• Contribute to clinical audit, research, and service improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to HSE policies and guidelines
• Participate in service planning and quality assurance activities
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Nurse on the NMBI register
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of nursing experience in Cardiology and/or Heart Failure
• Relevant post-registration education in cardiology or heart failure (essential)
• Have undertaken, or agree to undertake within an agreed timeframe, the Nurse Prescribing of Medicinal Products Certificate
• Excellent clinical decision-making and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
