Tipperary University Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Placement Co-Ordinator (Midwifery) to support and enhance high-quality clinical placements for student midwives. This permanent part-time role plays a critical part in education governance, clinical learning, and professional development within maternity services.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate and manage midwifery clinical placements in line with regulatory and academic requirements
• Liaise with higher education institutions, clinical staff, and students to ensure quality learning experiences
• Support preceptors and clinical staff in student supervision and assessment
• Monitor placement capacity, learning outcomes, and student feedback
• Promote best practice in clinical education and patient-centred care
• Contribute to audits, reports, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of clinical midwifery experience relevant to the role
• Completion of a recognised Preceptorship Workshop (essential)
• Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills
• Experience supporting student education and clinical learning (desirable)
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Nursing / Midwifery Clinical Placement Co-Ordinator (241Y)
• Salary: In line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025)
• Contract: Permanent, Part-Time
