University Hospital Limerick is seeking a Consultant Radiologist with a special interest in Breast Radiology to join its established diagnostic imaging service. This permanent, whole-time post offers the opportunity to deliver specialist breast imaging within a modern acute hospital setting, supporting multidisciplinary cancer care across the Mid West region.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Provide consultant-level breast imaging services, including screening and symptomatic assessment
• Report mammography, breast ultrasound and MRI in line with national standards
• Participate in multidisciplinary breast meetings and clinical decision-making
• Contribute to service development, audit, quality improvement and clinical governance
• Support teaching and supervision of NCHDs, radiographers and trainees
• Participate in the consultant on-call rota as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland in Radiology
• Demonstrable expertise and experience in breast radiology
• Eligibility to work in Ireland without restriction
• Strong communication, leadership and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In accordance with the HSE Consultant Radiologist salary scale (as per Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales)
• Contract Type: Permanent, whole-time
