The National Counselling Service is recruiting qualified Counsellors/Therapists to deliver high-quality, evidence-based counselling services within community settings across Meath and Louth. These permanent, whole-time posts offer the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within integrated health areas while working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Two permanent vacancies are currently available, with a supplementary panel to be formed for future roles across Dublin North County and Dublin North City & West.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide professional counselling and therapeutic interventions to adults in line with National Counselling Service standards
• Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service evaluation
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary community teams
• Adhere to ethical, professional, and HSE governance requirements
• Participate in supervision, continuous professional development, and service improvement initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Recognised qualification in counselling or psychotherapy meeting HSE criteria
• Eligibility for accreditation/registration with the appropriate professional body
• Demonstrated experience delivering counselling services in a clinical or community setting
• Strong interpersonal, assessment, and documentation skills
• Commitment to ethical practice and continuous professional development
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary in line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (August 2025) for Counsellor/Therapist (National Services), Grade 3028
