The Health Service Executive is recruiting Counsellors/Therapists for the National Counselling Service across the Dublin and South East Health Region. These roles support individuals and families through professional, evidence-based counselling services within community and national settings. A panel will be formed to fill current and future vacancies across multiple contract types.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver professional counselling and therapeutic interventions in line with HSE standards
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop appropriate care plans
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
• Uphold ethical practice, confidentiality, and safeguarding requirements
• Participate in supervision, service evaluation, and continuous professional development
• Contribute to service improvement initiatives within the National Counselling Service
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Recognised qualification in counselling or psychotherapy at the required standard
• Eligibility for registration or accreditation with the relevant professional body
• Demonstrated experience providing counselling or therapeutic services
• Strong communication, assessment, and clinical judgement skills
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Knowledge of HSE policies, clinical governance, and safeguarding practices

Location & Employer Information
These roles are based within the HSE National Counselling Service across the Dublin and South East Health Region, including Wicklow, Waterford, South Tipperary, South Dublin, Kilkenny, Carlow, and Wexford.
