Job Overview
The Counsellor/Therapist Senior (National Services) role is a rewarding opportunity for experienced healthcare professionals seeking to make a meaningful impact within HSE Mid West. This role is available on Permanent Part-time, Permanent Wholetime, Specified Purpose Part-time, and Specified Purpose Wholetime contracts, offering flexibility for suitably qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality counselling and therapeutic services to service users across HSE Mid West national services.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient care pathways.
- Conduct clinical assessments, interventions, and therapeutic planning.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in line with HSE standards.
- Support service development initiatives and quality improvement activities.
- Provide professional guidance and support within counselling and therapy services.
- Participate in clinical supervision, continuing professional development, and training activities.
- Ensure compliance with professional, ethical, and organisational standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant recognised qualification in counselling, psychotherapy, or a related discipline.
- Professional registration or eligibility for registration where applicable.
- Previous senior-level counselling or therapy experience within healthcare or community services.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and clinical assessment skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to delivering person-centred therapeutic care.
- Experience supporting service development and quality improvement initiatives is desirable.
- Knowledge of HSE policies, procedures, and best practice standards is advantageous.
