Galway University Hospital is inviting applications for Supplementary CSSD Operative positions within the Central Sterile Services Department. These roles are essential to the safe delivery of clinical services, supporting decontamination and sterilisation processes across the hospital. Opportunities are available on both fixed-term and permanent wholetime contracts.


Key Responsibilities

• Carry out decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilisation of medical devices
• Support endoscopy and theatre services through timely instrument processing
• Operate sterilisation and washer-disinfector equipment in line with protocols
• Maintain accurate documentation and traceability records
• Adhere to infection prevention, health and safety, and quality standards
• Work effectively as part of the CSSD multidisciplinary team
• Participate in ongoing training and service improvement initiatives


Required Skills & Qualifications

• Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in Endoscopy, Decontamination, or CSSD
• Strong understanding of infection prevention and control procedures
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures accurately
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to meet service needs
• Previous healthcare or hospital support experience is desirable

• Salary in line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales for C.S.S.D. Operative Grade 5785
