About the Role

Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) is seeking applications for the position of Deputy Chief Operations Officer. This senior leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the strategic and operational management of one of Ireland’s leading publicly funded healthcare organisations.

The successful candidate will support the Chief Operations Officer in the delivery of high-quality, safe and efficient healthcare services while helping to drive organisational performance, service improvement and operational excellence across CHI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of strategic and operational objectives across Children’s Health Ireland.
  • Assist in leading service performance, quality improvement and organisational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with senior management, clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support governance, risk management and compliance activities.
  • Promote patient-centred service delivery and continuous improvement.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Significant senior management and operational leadership experience.
  • Strong strategic planning and organisational management skills.
  • Experience working within complex healthcare or public service environments.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities.
  • A commitment to service excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.
