An exceptional senior leadership opportunity is available for a Director of Nursing for Quality and Governance within Donegal Disability Services. This pivotal role provides professional, clinical, and strategic leadership to ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and governance across disability services in Donegal.

The post holder will influence service development, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement while supporting multidisciplinary teams to deliver person-centred, evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic leadership for nursing quality, governance, and risk management
• Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, HSE policies, and statutory regulations
• Lead quality improvement initiatives, audits, and clinical governance frameworks
• Oversee professional nursing standards, education, and workforce development
• Support incident management, safeguarding, and patient safety processes
• Contribute to service planning, transformation, and performance management
• Collaborate with senior management and multidisciplinary stakeholders
• Promote a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Relevant postgraduate qualification at Level 9 or higher (or working towards)
• Significant senior nursing management experience, ideally in disability services
• Demonstrated expertise in quality assurance, governance, and regulatory compliance
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, and change management skills
• Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making abilities
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary Scale: Director of Nursing Band 2A
• Pay Range (1 Aug 2025): €87,533 – €96,910 per annum (7-point scale)
