An exceptional senior leadership opportunity has arisen for a Director of Nursing for Quality and Governance (Band 2) within Donegal Disability Services. This permanent, whole-time role is pivotal in driving high standards of clinical governance, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across disability services in Donegal.

Reporting at senior management level, the post holder will provide strategic nursing leadership, ensuring person-centred, safe, and effective services aligned with national standards and HSE policies.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic leadership for nursing quality, governance, and patient safety across Donegal Disability Services
• Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of clinical governance frameworks
• Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, national policies, and regulatory requirements
• Oversee quality improvement initiatives, audits, and risk management processes
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and accountability
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, senior management, and external stakeholders
• Support workforce planning, professional development, and succession planning within nursing services
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Significant senior nursing leadership and management experience
• Demonstrated expertise in quality, governance, and risk management
• Strong knowledge of HIQA standards and disability service regulations
• Proven ability to lead change and service improvement initiatives
• Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills
• Relevant postgraduate qualification at Level 9 or higher is desirable
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: Director of Nursing Band 2 scale €88,239 – €103,167 per annum (1 August 2025 rates)
• Contract: Permanent, Wholetime
