The Driver / Porter (Disability Services) role in South Connemara offers an opportunity to support individuals with disabilities through safe and reliable transport services. Working with Brothers of Charity Services Ireland, you will play a vital role in enabling service users to access community activities, appointments, and day services.
Table of Contents
This permanent part-time position (26.5 hours per week) contributes directly to enhancing independence, dignity, and inclusion for people supported by the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide safe and reliable transport for service users on public roads
• Assist clients with mobility and accessibility needs
• Ensure vehicles are maintained in a safe, clean, and roadworthy condition
• Follow all road safety and organisational transport policies
• Support service users during journeys in a respectful and professional manner
• Maintain accurate transport records as required
• Liaise with service coordinators and management regarding schedules
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Full clean driving licence appropriate to the role
• Experience driving on public roads in a professional capacity
• Understanding of disability services and client-centred support
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to assist individuals with mobility needs
• Garda Vetting clearance (as required)
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary is aligned with Grade 6132 – Driver (Patients / Clients Public Roads) under Health Sector Consolidated Salary Scales (1 August 2025) .
