Driver/Porter (Disability Services) – South Connemara

Brothers of Charity Services Ireland is seeking a dedicated Driver/Porter to support disability services in South Connemara, County Galway. This permanent part-time role plays a vital part in ensuring safe transport and logistical support for service users across community-based settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport service users to appointments, activities, and services
• Assist passengers with mobility needs, ensuring dignity and comfort
• Carry out porter duties including movement of equipment and supplies
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and carry out basic safety checks
• Adhere to road safety, organisational, and health and safety policies
• Communicate effectively with service users, families, and colleagues
• Support the day-to-day operational needs of disability services

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Full clean driving licence appropriate to the role
• Experience in a caring, disability, or healthcare setting is desirable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding principles
• Flexibility to meet service needs across South Connemara

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

• Grade: Driver (Patients / Clients Public Roads) 6132
• Contract: Permanent Part-Time (26.5 hours per fortnight, X1PPT 26.5/78)
• Salary: In line with approved public sector pay scales
