An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Director of Nursing Mental Health Galway within Galway Roscommon Mental Health Services, part of HSE West and North West. This is a permanent, whole-time senior nursing role based in Galway City, offering the chance to influence service development and quality of care across a broad range of mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide senior clinical and professional leadership within mental health nursing services
• Support the Director of Nursing in strategic planning and operational management
• Lead and contribute to policy development and ensure effective implementation
• Oversee quality assurance, audit, and governance systems
• Promote evidence-based practice and continuous service improvement
• Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary mental health teams
• Contribute to workforce planning, staff development, and performance management
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Significant post-registration experience in a psychiatric / mental health nursing setting
• Demonstrated experience across a wide range of mental health services
• Proven involvement in policy development and translating policy into practice
• Experience in quality audit, risk management, and assurance systems
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Relevant postgraduate qualification in nursing, management, or mental health is desirable
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary scale: €73,028 – €88,123 per annum (Assistant Director of Nursing Mental Health Services, Grade 2542)
• Contract type: Permanent whole-time
