This Clinical Nurse Specialist Stroke Limerick role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse to progress into a specialist post within stroke services in the HSE Mid West. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality, evidence-based stroke care while developing advanced clinical expertise in a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

This is a permanent whole-time position, open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants, based in Limerick.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver specialist nursing care to patients with stroke across acute and community pathways
• Support early assessment, intervention, and rehabilitation for stroke patients
• Act as a clinical resource for nursing and multidisciplinary colleagues
• Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
• Promote patient education, secondary prevention, and self-management
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and care planning
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and data collection
• Engage in ongoing professional development towards full CNS competency
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Nurse on the NMBI Register (General Division)
• Relevant post-registration experience in stroke or related acute care setting
• Demonstrated interest in developing specialist clinical practice
• Strong clinical decision-making and patient advocacy skills
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork abilities
• Evidence of continuous professional development
• Postgraduate education in stroke or related specialty is desirable
