Job Overview
The Cardiac Physiologist Chief II Waterford position offers an exciting leadership opportunity within University Hospital Waterford, part of HSE Dublin and South East. This permanent wholetime role is suited to an experienced cardiac physiologist ready to lead service delivery, clinical governance, and innovation in non-invasive and invasive cardiology diagnostics.
Working closely with consultant cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams, the Chief II will play a key role in advancing high-quality, patient-centred cardiac services across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership across cardiac diagnostic services including ECG, stress testing, echocardiography, and related investigations.
- Support and supervise cardiac physiology staff, promoting professional development and service excellence.
- Ensure compliance with national clinical guidelines, quality standards, and HSE governance frameworks.
- Collaborate with Consultant Cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient pathways.
- Lead service planning, audit, quality improvement, and innovation initiatives.
- Contribute to training, research, and continuous professional development activities.
- Participate in departmental management and strategic service development.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in Clinical Measurement Science or equivalent relevant cardiac physiology qualification.
- Significant post-qualification experience in cardiac diagnostics, including advanced modalities.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
- Registration with the appropriate professional regulatory body (where applicable).
- Strong clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement knowledge.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
