The Health Service Executive (HSE) is recruiting a Care Assistant (Disability Services) for a temporary whole-time position in the Sacred Heart Centre Early Intervention Services, Lady Lane, Waterford City. This role supports children with intellectual disabilities and additional needs across the HSE Dublin & South East region. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team delivering person-centred care in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality support to children with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and additional needs
• Assist in implementing individual care plans and early intervention programmes
• Support children in developing communication, social, and daily living skills
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external supports
• Maintain accurate records in line with HSE policy and professional standards
• Promote dignity, safety, and independence for all service users
• Contribute to the overall functioning of the Sacred Heart Centre and wider Disability Services
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Experience working with children who have an intellectual disability
• Knowledge of Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and additional support needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy, person-centred environment
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and HSE values
