This Catering Assistant Kerry role offers a secure, permanent opportunity within Kerry Mental Health Services at Deer Lodge, Killarney. You will support food preparation and service for service users and staff, working as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare environment within the HSE.


Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, serving, and distribution of meals
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety (HACCP)
• Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and dining areas
• Support stock control and food storage procedures
• Work collaboratively with catering and healthcare colleagues
• Adhere to HSE policies, health & safety, and infection control standards


Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a catering or food service environment (desirable)
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safe handling practices
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Good communication and time-management skills
• Flexibility to meet service needs in a healthcare setting


Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary: In line with HSE Catering Assistant Grade 4123 public service pay scales (August 2025 consolidated rates)
Contract: Permanent Wholetime
