Job Overview
The Health Service Executive is seeking applications for the position of Catering Officer Grade II within HSE Dublin and Midlands, based in County Offaly. This permanent wholetime role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced catering professional with strong HACCP knowledge and leadership capability to contribute to high-quality food service delivery in a healthcare setting.
This Catering Officer Grade II Offaly role plays a key part in ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-focused catering operations in line with national standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise catering staff to ensure efficient daily food service operations
- Ensure full compliance with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) standards
- Monitor food preparation, storage, and service procedures to maintain quality and safety
- Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier coordination
- Support staff training, performance management, and rota planning
- Maintain accurate documentation and audit records
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet patient and service user needs
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience working in a HACCP environment relevant to the role
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity within a catering setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage staff performance and foster a positive team environment
- Experience in healthcare catering settings is desirable
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €52,235 – €62,485 (including incremental progression and LSIs, as applicable).
This is a Permanent Wholetime position offering job security, structured incremental salary progression, and access to public sector benefits including pension scheme and annual leave entitlements.

This role is based in County Offaly within HSE Dublin and Midlands (Longford, Westmeath, Offaly, Laois, Kildare, and parts of Dublin South and Wicklow).
