The Chief Cardiac Physiologist role at Mayo University Hospital offers an exciting leadership opportunity within a dynamic cardiac diagnostics service. This permanent wholetime position is ideal for an experienced professional with significant post-qualification expertise in cardiac diagnostics who is ready to lead, innovate, and enhance patient care standards.
As a senior member of the cardiac diagnostics team, you will play a pivotal role in service delivery, quality improvement, and clinical governance within Mayo University Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the cardiac diagnostics service within the hospital setting
- Oversee non-invasive and invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures
- Ensure high standards of clinical practice and patient safety
- Provide expert clinical guidance and mentorship to cardiac physiology staff
- Contribute to service planning, development, and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain compliance with professional standards and HSE policies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes
- Participate in audit, research, and continuous professional development activities
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in Cardiac Physiology or equivalent
- Eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body where applicable
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of post-qualification experience in cardiac diagnostics
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Strong clinical decision-making and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to high standards of patient-centred care
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €61,715 – €84,677 per annum (including applicable increments), plus Long Service Increments (LSIs) where applicable.
