🩺 Job Overview
An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Midwife / Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) specialising in Endometriosis and Chronic Pelvic Pain at Cork University Maternity Hospital. This advanced practice role focuses on delivering expert, person-centred care to women experiencing complex gynaecological conditions, within a leading tertiary maternity service in the South West.
This role is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and offers a chance to contribute to specialist services, clinical leadership, and service development.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialist clinical care to women with endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain
• Lead and coordinate evidence-based assessment, treatment, and follow-up pathways
• Act as an expert resource for patients, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues
• Support patient education, advocacy, and self-management strategies
• Contribute to audit, research, and service improvement initiatives
• Participate in education, mentorship, and professional development activities
• Ensure care delivery aligns with HSE policies and national clinical guidelines
🎓 Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Nurse or Midwife with NMBI
• Relevant post-registration qualification at Level 8 or higher (or willingness to complete)
• Demonstrable experience in women’s health, gynaecology, or chronic pain management
• Evidence of continuing professional development and clinical leadership
• Excellent communication, clinical decision-making, and organisational skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland

• Salary in line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales for Clinical Nurse Specialist (Grade 2632)
