Job Overview
Regional Hospital Mullingar is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Clinical Midwife Manager 2 to join its maternity services team. This permanent whole-time position offers an opportunity to lead and support high-quality midwifery care within a dynamic hospital environment, with an initial focus on the postnatal ward and scheduled rotation to the antenatal ward.
This role is ideal for an experienced midwife with strong leadership capabilities and a passion for delivering excellence in maternal care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and management within the maternity services team
- Oversee the delivery of safe, high-quality postnatal and antenatal care
- Support, mentor, and supervise midwifery staff
- Ensure adherence to clinical standards, policies, and best practices
- Coordinate patient care and manage ward resources effectively
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes
- Participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate clinical records and reporting standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Significant post-registration experience in midwifery
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of postnatal experience
- Previous leadership or management experience in a clinical setting
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead teams and manage clinical workloads effectively
- Commitment to continuous professional development and quality care
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €62,078 – €78,443 (LSI applicable)
Contract Type: Permanent Wholetime
Working Hours: Full-time hospital-based role with rotational duties
