Tipperary University Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Midwife Manager 2 Ultrasound to provide clinical leadership and expert oversight of maternity ultrasound services. This senior leadership role is based in Clonmel and offers the opportunity to shape high-quality, evidence-based ultrasound practice within an acute maternity setting.

This is a specified purpose, whole-time HSE post open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage maternity ultrasound services in line with national and local policies
• Provide expert clinical leadership in first trimester and fetal anatomy scanning
• Ensure high standards of clinical governance, quality, and patient safety
• Support education, training, and professional development within the ultrasound service
• Contribute to service planning, audit, and continuous quality improvement
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary maternity teams across the hospital

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Registered Midwife with relevant professional registration
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in maternity ultrasound
• Completion of recognised scanning courses relevant to the role
• Competency in first trimester and fetal anatomy scanning
• Professional Certificate in Early Pregnancy completed
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

Desirable:
• MSc in Ultrasonography (or equivalent), though not essential

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

• Salary scale: Clinical Midwife Manager 2 (Grade 2132) – €61,463 to €77,666 per annum (HSE consolidated pay scales, point dependent)
• Contract type: Specified Purpose, Whole-Time
