Job Overview
The Clinical Nurse Manager 1 Cavan position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and coordinate nursing services within Medical Services at Cavan and Monaghan Hospital. This permanent wholetime HSE role is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and plays a vital part in delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care across the region.
As a Clinical Nurse Manager 1, you will provide clinical leadership, support multidisciplinary collaboration, and ensure high standards of professional nursing practice in line with national policies and hospital guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional and clinical leadership within Medical Services.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.
- Supervise, support, and develop nursing staff within the unit.
- Maintain clinical standards in accordance with HSE policies and national guidelines.
- Coordinate patient care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in service planning, quality improvement, and risk management initiatives.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Have a minimum of relevant post-registration nursing experience as outlined in the official Job Specification.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
