Job Overview
The role of Clinical Nurse Manager 1 Dublin – Palliative Care offers an exciting opportunity to lead and support nursing teams within the Inpatient Unit (IPU) at Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services in Harold’s Cross. This permanent wholetime position plays a vital role in delivering specialist palliative care services to patients and families during critical stages of care.
As a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (Grade Code 2127), you will support high standards of clinical governance, patient safety, and compassionate end-of-life care within a multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and operational management within the Palliative Care Inpatient Unit.
- Support and supervise nursing staff to ensure high standards of patient-centred care.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, HIQA regulations, and organisational policies.
- Coordinate care planning and delivery in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Promote evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Manage rostering, staffing resources, and performance development of nursing personnel.
- Contribute to risk management, patient safety, and clinical audit processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with active registration on the NMBI register.
- Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience, with relevant palliative care experience desirable.
- Previous leadership or management experience in a clinical setting.
- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality palliative and end-of-life care.
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Salary aligned with the February 2026 HSE Consolidated Pay Scales for Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (Grade 2127).
- Salary scale effective 1 February 2026: €57,208 – €67,372 per annum (8-point scale).
- Permanent wholetime contract.
